Building for niches, hyper-personalization, self-configuration, specific community plugins are still what I look for in a new social media.
mass social medias have great algos, sometimes good info, overall are good in sucking time but some users (& prob many more soon) start to use them more and more simply to improve their real life social XP.
> watch the growth of new social sports/clubs (run clubs, friends cycling groups, padel connections); many of them are already forming new identity, around new behaviors but most still use big social medias for signalling to strangers, following niche influencers & announcements - and user still get bombarded with noise & cannot effectively use online for offline.
let me know if you know some great niche social medias (for sports, crypto, ai, etc.)
