does speed reading *actually* work? I’ve tried it in earnest a handful of times and either my cpu isn’t powerful enough or I’m doing it wrong. seems ripe for psyop with its claim to superhuman benefit and ability to always say “you just need to practice more” etc. but, is it real?

I mess up from time to time but taking the max amount of credits I could for half of college got me pretty good at speed reading/watching content

Are you reading fast or just skimming and looking for important points? I find the bottle neck is understanding and recall for me.

speed read books on speed reading in the past; - didn't enjoy reading - couldn't recall - had to re-read a ton along the way (speed reading requires keeping pace)

Its definitely the latter if I need to deeply understand something Ill look at multiple sources for it for recall: my brain is good when I do the thing myself or apply it in some way ex. I follow someone on warpcast after meeting them another ex: i build something in a framework I want to learn etc
