Feels like one way or another the phone has to disappear soon. It can be replaced with wearables on the eye or wrist, but I think creating an affordable and attractive alternative will be really challenging

same, its a good compromise of mixed reality and minimal hardware. I also think it'd be great to have a holo-future because everyone can see the holograms and separate them from physical reality. Otherwise, I could see some people losing their minds in a world that's hyper-immersive personalized

Yeah exactly. You can mount cameras that make the hologram interactive and address the "dead server" effect of the unpopulated parts of the world. It also allows for a lot more AI to become embodied for scenarios that don't require a physical body, which I suspect is a big subset of things that we want robots to do.
