went further into the park this time. along the rear is the most beautiful dry wall (no mortar) ive ever seen, perforated by these wells built around dead trees. still shook by this work

so good! I love that Andy Goldsworthy's work feels accessible to everyone, totally arresting like Turrell but grounded in nature in a way that makes it intimate, attentive, safe. The stone walls are my favorite:

for his larger scale projects he collaborates with assistants and masons. I’m glad we get to see the result, and some of it wouldn’t be possible if he set each stone, but it still feels a bit like cheating compared to how physically engaged his smaller work is.
