what if fc mini apps became the new product hunt? 

what if fc wallet + feed becomes a trader's safe haven? 

idk i keep thinking a lot on how farcaster should uniquely 100x and spend $10mn over the next 12 months to go big or go home 

the team / founders are incredibly talented and there's opportunity cost

maybe it's a decade long slow grind to wait for a canonical event that floods new valuable users

but is hope a good strategy?

i ask this to myself very often each time i say 'i hope xyz happens'

You could say the same thing for text-based content we've been working with for the last 4.5 years.

Video content is more compelling for a lot of people.

Mini apps are great for retention, but, for the most part, don't drive top of funnel growth.

If we had deep link invites to mini apps, I think they could definitely drive TOF growth. It's technically not possible for mini apps to increase growth yet

You can’t add a flag or metadata or something to an invite that would replace text in the onboarding flow? Possible it’s too complicated to be worth it, but seems likely some kind of workaround would be possible

It doesn't pass to the app from the app store. That's why you have some apps try to immediately try to get you to paste something (which is jarring to a new user).

I don’t think he would say that without confirming you can’t do it, but what I am confused about is that there’s some pretty obvious workarounds even with this limitation. I think it’s just not a priority currently and they don’t want to look into it much tbh

yep, i also believe that not being able to invite users from the outside into a miniapp without friction is a big pain in the ass when developing a miniapp

im working on this one now. its for runners. there are runners that are not from farcaster, but could benefit from using the miniapp. imagine what a person that doesn't have farcaster installed needs to go through until they use the miniapp

I don’t feel frustrated. Merkles been shipping incredibly powerful tools for us and I think they will keep doing so. Mini apps plus warplet alone are just crazy. They’re gonna figure out how link a mini app in an invite

because devs would come to build mini apps, games, etc. creating an experience around token based on that token is a no brainer imho, and it won't happen with all of this friction. i feel extremely frustrated many times but i keep going because im stubborn af

Yeah I’m in a similar spot. IMO it is the highest ROI thing farcaster could do. One feature that will most likely result in a ton of onboarding and help strengthen dev ecosystem
