As a kid, I dreamed of being an archeologist. History fascinated me (still does). Exploring jungle temples and tombs sounded thrilling. At 13, I devoured Greek and Roman history books and chatted with my teacher about it. I was totally hooked. The post "The Ultimate Guide to Visiting Pompeii" is on Nomadic Matt's Travel Site.
