Google will finally let you rename your Gmail without losing anything
Google is rolling out a long awaited option to change your @gmail.com address to a new one while keeping the same Google Account. Your old Gmail becomes an alias, so emails sent to both old and new addresses land in the same inbox, and you can still sign in to Gmail, YouTube, Drive and other services with either address.
There are guardrails: you can only change your Gmail address once every 12 months, and at most three times per account, giving you up to four working @gmail.com addresses tied to a single account. After a change, you cannot delete the new address or create a fresh Gmail address for 12 months, and some older places like existing Calendar events may still show your previous email
