OpenAI quietly slipped a Christmas Easter egg into ChatGPT: start a new chat, send the gift emoji 🎁, and a hidden “Connector OpenAI Santa” flow kicks in. ChatGPT then asks you to snap or upload a selfie, passes it to Sora, and a few minutes later you get a short holiday clip where Santa talks directly to you and recaps your year in a playful way.
You do not control the script or the aesthetic - Sora makes all the choices, riffing on your selfie and bits of your chat history, which is exactly what makes the result feel a little chaotic and fun. The feature is rolling out to both free and paid users in the mobile apps as a limited-time seasonal Easter egg, with the single emoji as the only trigger.
