Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, in a statement quoted by Reuters via the Iranian news agency Tasnim, responded to recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, who had called for Iran’s unconditional surrender. Khamenei declared that the Iranian people “never surrender” and emphasized that the country will stand firm in the face of both a “forced war and a forced peace.” The Ayatollah noted that Iranians “react poorly to the language of threats” and vowed that any U.S. military intervention would lead to irreparable consequences.
