Criticism of international law: It is imperfect - true, but that’s hardly surprising. All of it works fairly well in times of peace, when the biggest issue is deciding what color to paint the lamppost in the red-light district (the answer is obvious😆, but still ). Politics is like a spiderweb. Given the diversity of this world, of different countries and regimes, it’s impossible to take into account the interests of all countries or at least how they interpret those interests. And as soon as tensions rise, a different rule kicks in: the one who’s right isn’t the one who is right, but the one with more rights - meaning power. At this stage of our development that’s just the way it is.
