The White House has admitted the possibility of a nuclear strike on Iran, according to Fox News correspondent Jacqui Heinrich, who cited a White House official. Tactical nuclear weapons could be used to target the heavily fortified Iranian uranium enrichment facility in Fordow. According to her, the U.S. military also has no doubts about the effectiveness of bunker-buster bombs, which are capable of destroying the Iranian nuclear site. Earlier, the British newspaper The Guardian reported that the military considers a tactical nuclear strike the only way to destroy the facility in Fordow, but Donald Trump refuses to consider such an option. I don’t think this would set a good precedent.

I think they are engaging in strategic ambiguity, but when it’s over nuclear weapons, like Russia has done for the past 3 years, it’s disappointing to see.

Some experts believe that these bombs will not reach this facility. Probably for this they are considering using a tactical nuclear payload. In my opinion, this would be opening a Pandora's Box. Why would the Russians refrain from using their own in Ukraine?

I don't think they are considering using it now. But they may want to plant the seed that if Iran were to break out (e.g. build and detonate a nuclear weapon, which that can do in days or weeks) then the tactical nuclear weapon would be used.
