Nearly got into a car accident yesterday when a group of children lost control of a ball next to a busy, fast street.

I slammed on my brakes as soon as I saw the ball slip and honked to warn them not to go out to retrieve it. 

The car behind me had to swerve around to not hit me from behind. They honked at me at first but soon figured out what had happened.

My 3yo son was in shock with the sudden jerk in the car. It was the first time I'd seen genuine fear in his face. 

Fortunately, he recovered quickly with a hug after we all pulled aside to take a deep breath and continue on our way home.
