if you think @coinbase is cooking now, know that they are still early and only a small part of the company is fully focused onchain.

every day, more and more of the company shifts their focus to onchain and their contributions are amplified by being able to ship 10x faster

i am curious about the "they" framing here

base is not coinbase and coinbase is not base

i'm still technically employed by coinbase at this point in time, but we're actively working to decentralize the protocol and i am base first and foremost

that said, i love coinbase and have the opportunity to help a lot from my position :)

We appreciate your transparency, Jesse. Can you please elaborate on the effects or goals of decentralizing the protocol? Would it become similar to an L2 or protocol where Coinbase is just a VC?

Ser, where do the fees generated by base go? Is base planning something similar to bnb for bsc? Pardon my ignorance if the question doesnt make sense.
