Here’s a head scratcher from last night. A portmanteau is a word formed by merging the sounds and meanings of two separate words - like how smoke and fog become smog. Some are trying to merge “celebrity” and “infomercial” in an inane attempt to coin the word “celebrmercial”. Here are a few other choice combinations that had us laughing, chortling, and seeking asylum in the safe and cozy pages of our well-worn dictionaries. Personal and Advertising becomes Pervertising. It takes a certain kind of person to purposefully become a public figure. Some who’ve graced the proverbial stage before, have given the sage advice that you can’t please everyone. However, with a lot of effort, you can find common ground. If you can help others and importantly, opposing sides to find that common ground together, you might have just the right temperament to represent a diverse swath of people in your community; perhaps even hundreds or thousands of constituents in a city. And maybe, if you’re quite blessed as an orator and mediator, you might have the opportunity to represent millions in an entire state. The race for the open seats in Congress is on and the corporate super PACs are spending hundreds of millions of dollars to prop up candidates who will do the bidding of the corporations. This might help your 401K, but at what terrible expense? Turn off cable news. Seek out alternate news coverage that fairly covers proponents’ and opponents’ positions. Vote this November 3.

I’ve been a dau on Farcaster for over 2 years. Before this, I was completely oblivious to the blockchain and decentralized social media. Long had I been disenfranchised by traditional social media to the point where I hadn’t logged into any of them for years. It was a simple Coinbase quest that got me here. The airdrops did keep me around at first, but they eventually dwindled and went away. I’ve come to realize that I’m here because of the people and the fascinating things they were/are working on. Truly though, I was a total noob. I tried to do that whole Satoshi’s Secret thing where you had to answer 10 increasingly difficult questions. It took hours of research for me to even understand the questions and hours more for me to be able to answer some of them. Back then, Internet money was flying everywhere on Farcaster and it was dizzying. I was dazed at my increasing wallet balance for doing pretty much nothing. Except I was doing something - I was meeting new people and learning every day as Farcaster just keep iterating and getting better. I had to ask @nounishprof what a DAO was at FarCon in Venice. She laughed and then realized I was serious. That’s how much of a noob I was. 🤣 I joined every channel when they were first introduced. I tipped warps. I was also one of the very fortunate people who received the initial $HIGHER allocation. My allocation was valued in the hundreds right away over the next several days, it was valued in the thousands. By sometime in March 2024, that initial HIGHER allocation was worth tens of thousands of dollars. I still remember opening my wallet and seeing my higher alloc valued at $74,000+. This was my first genuine moonshot before I even knew what that was or meant. This was an aberration of the highest magnitude, to the likes I’ve never seen in my life. I showed my wife and she didn’t believe me. She called it fake internet money. Well, shockingly, I actually took some profits by swapping $10,000 for ETH. This was used to support devs buidling on Farcaster. At the time, @corbin.eth was buidling King of the Degens and I was very happy to support this. Over the years, I’ve supported many other projects on Farcaster and plan to continue doing so through /betr 😎

Today, I was introduced to some kind of wonderful at a birthday party for a friend of my daughter’s. Her dad is an excellent cook and he said he’d been smoking Tomahawk Rib-Eye Steak and put them on the bbq grill. I’ve never had rib-eye like this before. It was tender, succulent, smoky perfection. No need to coerce anyone at the party to try it as we were all enamored carnivores. One of the dads requested the bone. 🦴🥩 If you’re a meat eater and haven’t tried Tomahawk rib-eye steak, I highly recommend it!

Dinner tonight at casa de Jerry’s: Sicilian deep dish pizza 🍕 It’s always a point of contention within the family ranks that we broach on at least a weekly basis. Some like thin crust with easy sauce, others like thick crust loaded up with toppings. Going into this weekend, the thick crusters secured the win. 😄🤤
