This is how I learned the difference between coffee in America vs. France. Friends and I were traveling to Europe and when we got to Paris, we ordered a coffee or un cafe. They brought a tiny shot glass of coffee and I laughed thinking that I was going to need at least 3-4 of these diminutive cups to get my normal caffeine intake. So, I downed it like you would a shot and asked for another. The waiter was nonplussed and brought a second one. I started sipping at it and not 5 mins later, I’m sweating, my heart racing and it feels like I’m about to have a heart attack. Here I thought I had built up a resistance to caffeine from the many cups I drink at work daily, but they don’t hold a candle to espressos in France. For a second, I thought someone had spiked my drink, but apparently that’s truly how strong espressos are in France. Right @ahn.eth ? Don’t say I didn’t warn you. 😳☕️
