The Palos Verdes Flower Clock Rolling Hills Estates, CA USA Video taken 10/08/2026 This enchanting flower clock was donated and dedicated to the city of Palos Verdes on April 21, 1987 by Michel Medawar and his family. He was a master clockmaker with a lucrative and profitable business in Lebanon where he made and installed the world’s first talking flower clock in 1969. Eventually, tens of thousands would gather on Lebanese Independence Day to listen to the clock play out the Lebanese National Anthem. But the war in Lebanon in the 70s was escalating and he ultimately decided to emigrate with his family to the United States.
