During most meetings at work, I’m called upon to discuss technical details for systems integrations, inner workings of API calls, etc. It’s interesting and engaging for some of us in IT and in cross-functional teams. However, it ends up being a techno-babble harangue for others whose responsibility it is to focus on cost controls and net income. While I’m sensitive to how droning on and on can kill the momentum in a meeting, it’s sometimes a necessary evil so the business teams understand the “why” enough to justify the “how”.
