Have your ever met someone who regularly embarks on exploring uncharted waters so-to-speak? I mean to say someone who is a continual learner simply for the sake of it. These explorations don’t necessarily have to be new or uncharted to the world - just new to the individual.
You know how they say that most drivers have no idea how the car they’re driving actually works? Or how most who read Moby Dick could care less about the whaling industry?
There’s the rare breed that pick up on such details that blissfully escape most. One of my oldest and dearest friends is like this. He’s super intelligent and inquisitive to boot. It’s not guaranteed that if you have one, you’ll always have the other.
It doesn’t hurt that his brother is a mechanic. If I don’t stop him, he’ll go on and on about vehicle combustion engines or killer whales or how multi-factor authentication and one-time passcodes work. It’s endlessly intriguing, but there’s only so much you can absorb in a sitting. 😅
