This summer has been notably sweltering thus far. It’s uncomfortable for me and my wife and kids. Even so, our utility bill was over $400 last month and much of that was the air conditioning at the house - running almost 24/7. We tried keeping it at 79 degrees, but that temp doesn’t do much for us. Thus, these last 5 days that we’ve been on vacation so far have been heavenly because the A/C is usually running at 69 degrees and the hotel, restaurants, and other businesses are running their A/C bills up to keep their customers comfortable. I know we ultimately end up paying for it anyway through higher prices, etc. but it has provided some level of cathartic relief that we won’t be paying another $400+ utility bill for July. 👀
