Heard a father tell the story of a young kid bursting into tears when a book ended, has stayed with me

I often leave the last fifth of a book unread these days …. avoids this para death thing… but also very few authors really land a book. Letting the worldbuilding they did live on for me feels much better

Hmmm wonder if the wiki version would at least be more like ripping a bandaid off, a quick death. Would still feel like a death is my first sense of it tho 😕

I kind of like this take I was close to reading the Wikipedia ending for the last few chapters and I prob should have
