yeah, that leaderboard is insane!!

soon, we'll create local leagues where you can compete against your friends, so that will make the competition for #1 spot more fair!

Also thought a simple daily timeout will help those who are too susceptible to casino mode  and also shut down farmers 🧑‍🌾 

The wide open miniword leaderboard — which resets every day — seems like another good pattern

yeah ours doesn't reset daily, and we knew it would be gamed, so we didn't overthink it on day 1

100% we will have a daily challenge with a reward/surprise/bonus round if you reach it

want to get it stable and then we can keep building new cool stuff on top of this concept where we can do different fun social + entertaining things in a game

Didn’t know your leaderboard already resets each day. 

Daily reset + timeouts then… turns it into a little daily speedrun which is how miniword feels (I give up if can’t get it in 3 or so). Daily habit-forming dopamine shot that has a little virtue since brainfood, but can’t get toooo hooked. ⚽️ has a similar hand-eye coordination brainfood virtue that I like btw. 

I suppose a nuclear option could be like the old ring-the-bell-with-a-hammer at a carnival. Get to 100 (or whatever) and you’ve won the day. Could have a bunch of winners. (Was thinking to also adjust the number over time for a max amount but that wouldn’t work with timezones.)

interesting, how would a daily timeout deter farmers, leaderboard resets daily but farmers rise at dawn, no?

launched fully knowing farmers gonna farm so we're going to test a few ways to make it a more level playing field
