Drink(s): Vino Natural Tannarone & Atian Gin & Tonic w/ slices of cucumber
Food: NY Strip
-> We didn’t stage the food well enough, we’re going to be more conscientious moving forward for the group
NY Strip Prep:
- let your steak rest out of the fridge for 10-15 min, generously apply salt and ground black pepper, if you want to feel bougie use pink salt
- heat an iron skillet to the point where youre seeing smoke come off the pan. Leave the pan on high heat until instructed otherwise
- add 1 tbspn of olive oil
- when applying the steak, I like to add 2 tbspn of unsalted butter
- while steak is searing generously baste juice to the top of the steak (if you want to be even more bougie, add thyme, I didn’t)
- continue this process for 2 minutes on each side, and 30 seconds on the brim of fat
- once cooked on both sides, depending on how thick the cut is, you can either move the pan to medium heat and wait for an internal temp of 130 Fahrenheit or move skillet to an oven at 400 degrees for 5min.
- Once 130 Fahrenheit pull it, let rest for a couple minutes, slice it up and enjoy.
