Just looked this up. Never knew the power plant they just disassembled that I surf out front of like all the time was powering this desalination plant. Sidenote: they used to also run a pretty cool aquafarm/oyster farm in the lagoon, but sounds like when the plant shut, the farm shut.

i’m deep in the valley in LA but my fam goes down all the time for legoland // my BFF from high school married a girl from Leucadia but they live in Vista now cause they couldn’t afford a house by the water. I’ve been trying to convince my fam to move to carlsbad for like 5+ years

Leucadia is amazing, my gf grew up here and hearing stories of how it was just like little farms and beach towns 25 years ago sounds so idyllic. Used to work at the office park right at the entrance to legoland! I'm in south oceanside, and it seems like Oside is the next beach town to blow up like encinitas.
