What’s one thing we should improve to make it easier to build mini apps?

i actually think making mini apps is really nice rn especially with the new docs and code samples and quickAuth!! the biggest obstacle i’ve had trying to onboard other web2 dev friends is they don’t really get the point of investing in the ecosystem (or they’re off put by gambling when they see the top apps)

what do you tell them is the point of investing on the ecosystem?

i always say it’s the fastest way to test your idea and get initial users — it’s appealing to a lot of people but multiple times now i’ve shown them the app they’ve seen the top 5 ranked apps and said “oh… i dont want to make a slot machine game..” (they come across as not v serious)

since wanting to see the most popular apps is the default, maybe prepare a response from what happens and them about your perceived problems of the current structure of popularity among apps, and then show them *your favorite one*

transform the popularity game into a curiosity one. spark the inner child, not the wannabe popular bully

responses i’ve gotten when i pitch fc mini apps to friends:

1 single person: “does it support WebGL?”
every other person (5-7): “can i see the current most popular apps?”

what would you suggest i show them?

why do you show them the leaderboard? maybe its not the proper incentive
