I don’t know about this. New England beaches had people packed in like sardines & hour long lines to park. So Cal beaches are so numerous that folks can spread out. Plus: weather.

oh I think the opposite: California / West Coast is way more dramatic and beautiful. Elevation + coastline is awesome. East Coast water is actually warm. The sand / dune aesthetic are pretty / classic.
