i built a fully-onchain prediction market fc mini-app in 3 days
it works... but omg it's sloooow and not cheap (so it's not "live" yet)
probably my skill issue, but what i mean:
- gas fee for placing a bet: $0.06? and $0.5 for deploying an event's contract?
(i heard many times about "Base's <$0.01 fees") txs on lens are so much cheaper
- then, the public RPC (free) is slow and very quickly gives me 429s
- using Alchemy as fallback gives me ptsd because for the lensie nft marketplace i noticed how easy is to end up having to pay quite a lot for not that many users
so... i'm rebuilding it all again.. using web2 here and there
ā the smart contracts won't store the betting event's title, description, bannerUrl... basically all metadata can be on sql and save a loooot on gas (not sure yet how much but i'll confirm): the idea is, to have the smart contracts handling only what is related to the money (ids and amounts)
