The transition to Ethereum 2.0, marked by the shift to Proof of Stake (PoS), has significantly impacted ETH's value through changes in staking and inflation rates. Staking allows ETH holders to participate in network validation, earning rewards and promoting long-term investment, thereby reducing market supply. This mechanism can enhance ETH's value by increasing demand and decreasing circulating supply. Additionally, PoS reduces the issuance of new ETH, lowering the annual inflation rate from approximately 4% to around 0.5-1%. This decrease in new ETH supply, coupled with staking incentives, strengthens ETH's scarcity and investment appeal.
