Universal decided to show their movies in theaters for longer time – which means we will wait more for digital releases. All their films this year will stay in cinemas for at least 30 days. This rule includes big projects like Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, Steven Spielberg's Disclosure Day and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
Starting from 2027, Universal will increase this window even more to 45 days. So movies will be in theaters for 7 weekends before going to digital platforms. However, these changes will not affect films from Focus Features division – like Bugonia or Hamnet.
