Re: Farcaster token, there is a risk/reward of course. But what do we have to lose? Not nothing, and having nothing to lose isn’t reason enough to do it. But it is worth acknowledging that the network has substantially less to lose than it did 1 year ago, at least, I would argue.
Public perception outside of Farcaster is that Farcaster is dead. Even here many feel that way, even some who continue to hangout here because who cares if it’s dying I’ll hangout till it does. But look at who you follow and how many are no longer active.
This isn’t an early innings project run by a team with $100M+ in the bank anymore. Circumstances have changed. The question of whether there should be a token was answered with a default no for a long time and it is possible that might not be the right answer anymore, even if it may have been for most or all of that time before.
A token is not a silver bullet, but it is a shot.
