$F2 will probably die sooner than later, but not all tokens need to survive long-term to be successful, depending on one’s definition of success for that particular token. I personally do not believe there is good logic to support the persistent survival of most memecoins. Because attention is fleeting and volume and value are downstream of attention. It is very difficult if not impossible for one meme to hold a lot of people’s attention for a long time. That’s why I’m building $QR, because I believe by redirecting the attention driven to a token to something different every day, the token could more reasonably sustain and continue to compound attention over a much longer period of time than any one meme. That token might even be able to compound attention in perpetuity, giving it a fighting chance to actually survive and thrive in the long run. $F2 has no such formula and was launched with no such thesis, but I do think it could be successful, by some definition at least. For example, if it were to run to a much higher market cap and expand to crypto twitter before eventually “going to zero”, I think that could be good for Farcaster. I think $F2 has the potential to popularize a positive perspective on the recent shift in Farcaster's strategy during a time in which I have seen more negative takes on Farcaster than any other time I can recall in my 3+ years here. As we all know, narrative is important in crypto, and I think this could contribute in some way large or small towards changing the narrative as it relates to the current state of Farcaster. Moreover, it would be popularizing that positive perspective in a crypto-native way, through the virality of a simple memecoin launched on Farcaster via clanker, which I think would be pretty cool. Now I don't know if it will go any higher from here, or how low it might go eventually, so please do not buy more than you can comfortably afford to lose. Lastly, this is not some exercise in altruism on my part. While I would love for $F2 to succeed in having a positive impact for Farcaster, I do expect to continue collecting fees from the trading of this token. As of now, I plan to use those fees to help support my ability to continue independently building projects like $QR, @kondo, and @basecolors, and more generally, to keep building on Farcaster, where I’ve been building for the better part of the last 2 years. I hope you all find this to be a reasonable clank and that some of you find it to be a meme worth propagating. For the avoidance of doubt, I remain bullish on Farcaster.
