The user experience and lack of knowledge on how to gift the funds or take them back makes me really sad to say using /crowdfund isn’t the best option for those who cannot reach their goals. - I have reached out to everyone in my DCs and they expect if they leave the funds it will just be sent anyway. Tho that doesn't seem to be the case. So if they donated and want to have it send if it makes it or not how does this work or is it in escrow forever?

if they just don't take the refund, will the money be returned to the donators?

From what I’m told it just sits there in the contract with no owner if they don't take it back for themselves or choose to continue to donate it.

No, this is incorrect. Supporters donate USDC to crowdfunds. If the crowdfund fails to meet its goal by its deadline, Supporters can claim a USDC refund forever. The UI allows Supporters to Donate Anyway, which claims then forwards their refund directly to the crowdfund creator if they choose to. Supporters receive a notification when they have an available refund and there is a red dot on the My Donations tab indicating they have refunds to claim. The contract also has an affordance which we have not yet used, which allows anyone to process refunds for any crowdfund that did not meet its goal. Available refunds sit in the contract until claimed or until someone uses this function to process refunds. Crowdfund creators are not entitled to donations if their crowdfund fails to meet its goal. This mechanic ensures people can support projects that have clear budgets, and reclaim or donate anyway if a project fail to meet the goals they state. This is how Kickstarter works, too.

Oh, I’m a bit confused. I donated $10 to Latif’s wedding, then there was an option for a refund, but I’m not sure if I took the money back. Plus, I sent him $10 through Farcaster. I just checked, and there’s no refund option now. Looking through transactions after tipn/noice is pointless since I have a thousands of them. @nicholas can we get a bit clarification? 👉 👈
