I can increasingly see a version of Base where it's an L2 for many L1s. 

It can have native bridges on many networks (not just ETH) and then aggregate all of that activity and liquidity into a single network.

Around 85% of onchain spot Bitcoin volume is on Ethereum and L2s. 

Interestingly, L2s such as Base, Arbitrum, and Unichain all have a similar concentration of Bitcoin spot volume. All three have around 25% of their DEX volume in the Bitcoin category.

What L1s does it really make sense for besides BTC and ETH?

Hard to think of any others that it makes sense for Base to integrate with and focus on

in this case, what becomes the ultimate source of security and transaction finality?

Do you think that Base would continuously post blob data to the Bitcoin network similar to as it does to the Ethereum network?
