As for taste (hard to pinpoint it) it kinda tastes like a mildly fresher greek yogurt. Obviously the main benefit is the real yogurt culture that's there compared to the store bought stuff but the cost is about on par For this amount it was $2 for the starter and ~$5 of milk (Costco A2)
