One of the sad truths of the meme coin game (and plenty of “legit” projects too) is that a lot of teams pre-mint a big chunk of the supply for themselves, then spread it across hundreds or even thousands of wallets to make it hard to track. They’ll also make sure no single wallet holds much, so it looks like a fair distribution and a “fair launch.” There are even teams you can pay to do this so the wallets look organic. Degen never played those games. And honestly, it’s kind of wild that without any of that engineering, we still managed to organically rocket to the top. That’s rare. It’s special. I don’t think I fully appreciated how unusual it was until recently. If you want a simple sanity check: ask other meme coins where their funding comes from, and have them share a clear treasury wallet address. Most won’t, because a lot of these projects are run by teams you probably shouldn’t trust. Just saying. Not financial advice.
