I love the free market dynamics that crypto gives us, permissionless systems where markets emerge for almost anything.
I’m not a fan of creator tokens in their current form, but I like the underlying idea. There’s something there, we just haven’t found the right model yet.
I think that in general in a “capitalism v2” world, we’d need fewer restrictions, just voluntary markets and incentives that align people’s choices.
Imagine stuff like:
• Noise markets: you want to throw a loud party, pay your neighbors a rate they agree to. Everyone wins.
• Clean air markets: local residents get paid directly by factories or drivers for the right to emit in their area.
• Flight freedom markets: instead of banning smokers, pets, or crying babies, create routes with dynamic pricing. Pay for quiet or get paid to tolerate the inconvenience.
• Speed passes: instead of fines, pay into a pool that funds local safety, and buy a temporary right to go faster.
Let people choose.
Let prices express preferences.
That’s the ethos crypto makes possible.
I’ll be thinking more about markets inside the Degen app.
