Here’s what we're considering right now (nothing finalized yet!): πŸ“… August 28th: A Big Milestone - Possibly our final airdrop. - Unlocking all $DEGEN tokens from the vault. - Strong community support for stopping inflation via ongoing airdrops. πŸ”₯ One-Time Token Burn - Considering a one-time burn equivalent to roughly 10–50% of the amount claimed during Airdrop 2 (approx. 400M to 2B tokens). - Important: We're not burning tokens you've claimed, just using the claimed amount as a benchmark for how much we might burn. - This burn would coincide with the end of current tipping allowances. - Likely having a community call to discuss and celebrate the milestone. πŸ›‘ Ending Liquidity Incentives - Possibly stopping Aerodrome liquidity mining incentives in August. - Ending Beefy incentives on October 16th. - These steps would significantly reduce future token emissions. πŸ’Έ Starting Token Buybacks - Potentially beginning buybacks in August using earnings from: - LP rewards - Mini app revenue - Future Degen App earnings - Bought-back tokens would be regularly burned, up to a defined cap. - Goal: Reinforce community alignment and long-term sustainability. Hey. What about burning $DEGEN with respect to $DEGEN mentioning in social media? I believe it will make a huge hype in social media as we will be witnessed of $DEGEN name in every place we go. I think if the one-time burning is all the $DEGEN going to burn, you can half it and let this game begins. Maybe this will make another new kind of innovation others will follow (considering there hasn’t been such a thing as I haven’t seen any)

πŸ”₯ One-Time Token Burn - If you go with a one time token burn, leave the option for later token burns. I'd recommend acting on the lower end of the numbers because it gives flexibility in the future. - It also leaves room for community engagement burns similar to what the Bonk team is doing right now. - Gamify the burns. Set burns based on number of holders. Burn based on hashtag or other interaction. πŸ›‘ Ending Liquidity Incentives - Liquidity incentives are fun early, but they don't incentivize people to stick around. - With SushiDAO we learned incentives do not help acquire long term users. There's no brand loyalty from farmers. - Remove incentives and we have to start working to build an actual business rather than subsidized users. Similar to when the VC money dries up in any other startup. πŸ’Έ Starting Token Buybacks - It sounds like a good idea, but buying back may not be a good use of funds if you're already burning. - Burn and buyback to burn feels like you're making more work for yourself. My two cents as a community member, hodler, liquidity provider and $degen lover.

I really wish degen would've followed the ham playbook with rewards for holding and staking $tn100x, nfts, etc... looking at @aerodrome's protocol metrics and you'll see that $tn100x is still providing rewards to holders months after being away from farcaster... this is what keeps holders holding... $degen aerodrome vs $tn100x aerodrome

Epic. That which remains unchanged, does not survive. My only suggestion to improve this even further is to think about what cool new utility, partnerships, or other stuff you can announce in tandem with this next chapter (if you feel that’s appropriate). Can always find doubters and detractors for these choices you’ve laid out… hard to rain on announcements of cool new stuff of the variety I’ve suggested! :)
