Robinhood is building an L2. X is integrating cash tags and hinting at bigger moves. With Nikita leading product at X and advising Solana, Solana looks well positioned to become the top liquidity layer for spot and perps. Zooming out, retail trading is moving from CEXs and centralized rails toward DeFi and decentralized rails. But X still has the core downside of any centralized platform: creators don’t own their audience. Followers are rented. Relationships get throttled by the algo feed. Creators end up unseen and underpaid. I think social shifts next, toward platforms that give creators real ownership over their audience.
