text-to-video has crossed the threshold reality is separating the internet culture we’ve built will soon quickly drown in synthetic content from this period forward, human-made video will be lost—indistinguishable from generated fakes our recorded lives, buried deep in servers alongside fabricated words alongside truth—then fully submerged

wouldn’t that be good for masking our digital footprint? not all of us want everything about our lives permanently on the internet.

On the upside there's a long history of synthetic content, just not the sheer volume we're going to be attacked by. Separately and bc of a lot of things there are a lot of people who don't recognize how much (or any of their own) hubris wrt identifying AI content, and the bold ones are gonna get burned first

Surely there would be ways to tell real from fake even if it’s minute I expect there to be deepfake detection sites/apps as well but it’s still scary how much change and innovation is. Hopefully people understand the dangers and proceed accordingly (with integrity)

I’ve thought about this a bit recently… question to a degree is will people care where their content came from?

I dunno.. do we appreciate paintings any less since digital mediums became available? I think AI will make real video that much more valuable. 🤔

VEO3 just like GPT's image generation has a certain aesthetic that becomes easy to figure out after looking at a few generations. I think people will just be more attentive to content that plus the inevitable pattern recognition that'll start to happen
