the amount of times i’ve referenced this when discussing /animarising’s monetization & marketplace… every single dev should be asking themselves why tokenize at all against this backdrop these are offchain, USD-traded, skin gatcha boxes: sitting at $4B — do you know how many crypto studios raised on this exact model? but it works perfectly fine as is? why do we need crypto? their thesis was “yeah, but onchain, so you own it” — well they all failed this exists; its existed in runescape, wow, cs, eve, fortnite — you name it — for decades now & has printed ever since so now ask: where would these sit if they were onchain? how would these players perceptions change? would the extra infra expense & added UX complexity be worth it? decentralization? custodial ownership? reality is: these are not vc-backable USPs (anymore); they are not consumer-facing USPs (yet) the unlocks blockchains bring are beyond this… we need to start thinking differently about tokenism
