The reality altering feedback loop created by the internet was solidified when the global population of users exceeded 51%. "IRL" (reality untouched by the digital) no longer exists in most societies. our collective consciousness has been reshaped by the internet to the point that even offline actions are performed with an awareness of their potential online reflection. consensus reality has been overtaken, its sensory fabric altered, twisted by algorithms that shape thought, perception, and desire. the internet has imprinted itself onto human minds, replacing the unmediated self with a hybrid consciousness, a perpetual tether to the digital. to touch grass, to leave, to “go outside,” is now a metaphysical impossibility, for there is no outside to go to. we have entered a state where cyberspace is so entangled with the self that even the act of touching grass is now something mediated by the collective mind of the internet. the world outside is no longer “real life”; 14 replies
