No idea why this showed up on my feed, but "I'll only believe in ABC if XYZ  contemporarily convenient property of ABC also proves to be true" is precisely why I think so much of religion emphasizes constant self-immolation, otherwise one starts to think it's God who needs to adapt to their worldview not vice versa.

Convenient? Well, yes! We used to actually give af about other people & how decisions affected them before financial gain & mass control became a thing. And Self immolation is actually the craziest part out of all this. The right to knowledge, history, reasoning, & facts should not be taboo. So “self immolation” or teaching people to follow blindly is actually the CRAZIEST part about all of this.
