What’s a good word that sits above operating system but below apps? Yeah below miniapps too. Imagine if Farcaster the protocol were more like an electronic spreadsheet built for the AI world. More Reaction, Links & Mesaage types. Can’t wait to hack on fc web once that opens.

"data-layer" And it's reddit. Always has been, always will be. Maybe one day a decentralized version, but it's just so easy to follow the conversation . And . . . Hear me out, It's the last place on the internet with a ⬇️ button. The down button serves a purpose. There are no KOL's on reddit simply for the fact that if you are bullshit, you will be voted that way. This place is too nice, it's ALL nice. So it's fake, and you can't tell who is a snake because there is no 'boo this man button.' Gunna go yell at clouds now. @randomerror.eth Get down.

I think it’s a data layer for sure with a couple of enchantments. eg make of stupid simple to create different message, link & reactions. Your down button gets implemented this way. Hear you on what at times ive thought of as toxic positivity & have wondered if this is a generational thing from the participation trophy kids. Not throwing shade it’s how they were brought up (good bad or indifferent- but I digress). Let’s build the best place to build- ie malleable software.

Up only is a poor metric. Everything is data layer, the actual next step is users understanding that they need to /choose and /define their preferred interface to the layer. I think 'living' OS will be here faster than you expect and 'hey Google show me my Farcaster and Facebook feeds in a reddit format' is what I envision, but also they own the keys and currently is too API heavy for normal users and I doubt they are going to un-sandbox their environments 'i.e. different social media platforms'

🙌 YES but with a rock solid starting oakce thar progrssicely discloses options The thing i admire most about the MerkleM team is their focus -on ‘normal users’ but I want that last 5% to be bent by the user. Spreadsheets like flexibility for the ai empowered ‘normie’ who is now magicaly a mini-dev. We’re putting together a lite scripting/command system for project ige been a partnof doe uears now & I can’t help but think FC should do something similar. Maybe once open sourced can point some ideada ans code at that. Your ux hints are super inspiring @ionoi There’s a ‘mouse & GUI’ moment that it feels like we are right on the cusp of embracing. In the pod, voice & gesture are mentioned. Im not sure that’s it but im here for the next breakthrough. Disjointed ramble hopefully coherent enoughy 😵💫 my mind is deep in other area atm ✌️
