Just as being pro free speech means supporting speech acts you might not like or believe in, being pro innovation means supporting research and development in areas you might not like or believe in.

Seems like being pro innovation comes with caveats.  No one is ever truly or purely pro innovation or pro free speech.  I don’t think, with humans being humans, it’s possible to not have the caveats around free speech/innovation/the like
