The Mariana Trench is the deepest place on Earth. It is located in the western Pacific Ocean, about 2,500 kilometers from Manila, Philippines, and near Guam.
Its deepest point is the Challenger Deep, which lies approximately 10,916 meters (around 35,760 feet) below sea level.
Due to its extreme depth and pressure, research here is challenging. However, scientists believe it is important for understanding Earth's geology and discovering unknown life forms.
