Latest on Farcaster Pro 1. Launches tomorrow Tuesday May 27 after 1pm Pacific. In-app notification. 2. First 10,000 subscribers will receive an NFT at a later date. It's the same NFT for everyone. One subscription per FID. You must use the Farcaster mobile app to subscribe. USDC or warps—one or the other, no combinations. 3. There are no other benefits to the NFT; it's a benefit of Farcaster Pro. If you end up buying an NFT on the secondary market, there's no secret benefit. 4. If you have any hesitations about Farcaster Pro — $120 annually, only Day 1 feature is a badge and NFT—then *do not* subscribe. There are no refunds. We'd like to add 10K character casts and up to 4 images in the near future, but you should only subscribe tomorrow if you're excited about it. 5. It's one price globally. The goal here is to maximize revenue for the protocol—and 100% of revenue will go to creator and developer rewards. 6. It's optional. No benefit to reach, visibility or rewards. You don't have to subscribe.

In 4.5 years of working on Farcaster, the dumbest niche meme has been “you can’t speak the truth on Farcaster without fear of retribution”. Just because you say something and then someone disagrees with you (or ignores you), that’s not retribution.

Um, GM. I’m Dayana and I’ve got some feelings I’d like to share with the chat.👉👈🥹 2 years ago, someone I met at a conference put me on to this “secret” app. “F Twitter, get on Farcaster,” he said. I loved the idea so I POSTED! 💪 Like…5 times. Then I stopped. Sometime after that, I found Lens and became a power user. But now (and I blame @ted @jessyjeanne and @afrochicks 🥲) I’m dying of FOMO seeing all my friends at FarCon and here. (@katherholt seeing you got meee) So I’m thinking…should I come back to Farcaster but for real this time? A part of me wonders, would people even care? 🥺 Do I have friends here? "continue" might be the worst-named keyword in python. Like, consider this code: for i in range(100): if i % 5 == 0: continue print(i) It prints out numbers that are not multiples of 5. But if you give it to someone who is not experienced in python, they might think the exact opposite!

A few tips for mini app devs: 1. Simplify screens 2. Bigger buttons / touch targets 3. Remove unnecessary crypto complexity (or hide it in an advanced view) I'm using the excellent @crowdfund mini app as an example below. 1. Consider moving anything optional to after you complete the primary action, so in this case the comment would come after the donation 2. Make the primary action -- adding an amount -- big, front and center 3. USDC + logo, the wallet selected are not useful for 95% of people 4. The available balance is useful, so consider making that a clear secondary piece of info 5. Make the primary button big and easy to tap on a mobile device.
