"Computers don't have taste" – but I do

I want to make a micro video essay talking about how people have been complaining that psychoanalysis/psychiatry (I'm not sure which one so I need to research on the correct term) our feelings is not helping. 

Instead it plunges us deeper into our misery, and some even argue that it keeps us stagnant.

definitely I think facing ones self is extremely important

But do you think it works for people who are going through psychological issues? Or the patient has a role to play as well.

feelings would be psychoanalysis yea psychology 
even if those people are right someone has to study it so the future generations don't repeat our mistakes
