I've had a few of those, and the silicone can absorb smells from the freezer which then impact the taste of the ice. Recomend finding a ridged plastic box that mold can fit in so the ice stays fresh!

I tried to get it out with a vinager + baking soda bath, and all I managed was a combination of all the flavors 🤮

hahaha exact same. i'm looking at the stainless steel ones but they kinda look way more of a pain and expensive than just the regular plastic ones

is the ice easy to remove from a stainless steel tray? getting it out is another thing i'm really liking about this silicone one

You can run water over the back to loosen the cubes, and some metal trays have a bit of flex to them so you can pop the ice out
