Fight of Drunken Monkeys and Bears' (1720) by Pandit Seu. Two hundred and fifty years ago, the Punjabi hilltown of Guler was Florence of the Himalayan foothills. Behind its walls, its rulers were discerning patrons of the arts: poetry, dance and music all flourished in this remote valley on the edge of the Himalayas. The leading painter in Guler was a brilliantly innovative miniature artist named Pandit Seu.
