does anyone have lake house town reccos in new york? decided yesterday that i need to skip a stone and kayak on a lake this summer or else i will perish

i literally don’t know of a single lake near nyc i’m sorry 

was just up in the kingston/woodstock area last weekend though and seemed to be some good hiking around there (and some semblance of town/civilization)

would recommend that area – cold springs is nice and somewhat closer to the city as well. haven't hiked too much in NY area though. been to some nice parks with a lake in Jersey a while back too.
