I didn’t realize I had aphantasia until a few years ago. 

In fact, I didn’t even know it was a thing. I assumed everyone was like me.

I have vivid dreams and can describe objects visually, but when I close my eyes I see nothing. Darkness.

I imagine things, but can’t say that i “see” anything. It doesn’t feel visual, it feels secondary to vision, but i can describe clearly a scene I’ve seen recently or a picture i’ve taken.
